Dr. Robert Watton has over 17 years of experiences in his field of Chiropractic care, servicing patients from all stages and walks of life. Patient types include but are not limited to Worker’s Compensation and Private Insurance Patients. He has experience and comfort treating children, as well treating adults and the elderly.
Dr. Watton recognizes that the human body possesses an inherent ability to heal itself as long as there is no interference of the body’s neurological system. If the bony system, specifically the spinal column experience misalignment or abnormal movement, this will negatively impact the neurological system causing body malfunction and improper healing. Taking this methodological approach into account, Dr. Watton searches for that interference helping the body to remove that inference so the body can heal itself as it is designed.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that emphasizes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine, under the belief that these disorders affect general health via the nervous system. It is the largest alternative medical profession, and although chiropractors have many similarities to primary care providers, they are more similar to a medical specialty like dentistry or podiatry.
The main chiropractic treatment technique involves manual therapy, especially manipulation of the spine, other joints, and soft tissues; treatment may also include exercises and health and lifestyle counseling. The specific focus of chiropractic practice is the chiropractic subluxation. Traditional chiropractic assumes that a vertebral subluxation or spinal joint dysfunction interferes with the body’s function and its innate intelligence.
